BrightRidge is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. Board members are appointed by the elected boards and commissions of communities within the BrightRidge service territory to serve four-year terms. Currently, the City of Johnson City has six board members, the Town of Jonesborough has one board member, and Washington County has two board members.  

Board meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 4:15 p.m. at BrightRidge, 2600 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City. Any change in the time or place of such meeting shall be made known to the public as far in advance as practical.  Monthly board meeting agendas are posted to the BrightRidge website prior to the monthly meetings. Board meeting minutes are posted to the BrightRidge website following approval by the Board of Directors.
