Boones Creek outage Friday afternoon to repair accident damage
JOHNSON CITY — A late Friday afternoon power outage will impact 642 customers in the Boones Creek area as BrightRidge crews replace a utility pole damaged earlier in the day by a motor vehicle accident.
The damaged pole carries a double circuit from the nearby Boones Creek substation, with repairs affecting the area near the intersection of Boones Creek Road, Highway 36/North Roan Street, and South Pickens Bridge Road.
No outages were required immediately following the accident while damage was assessed. Given cold weather conditions, every effort is being made to minimize the outage period, with two construction crews deployed.
The outage is scheduled to begin between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. and could last up to three hours. Motorists in the area are asked to use caution, as BrightRidge crews will be on scene and traffic delays are possible.
