Rolling roadblock scheduled for fiber pull across I-26 Sunday morning

JOHNSON CITY — Motorists should expect rolling roadblocks on Interstate-26 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Sunday to permit the placement of broadband fiber crossing the interstate between Exit 20 at North Roan Street and Exit 22 at Watauga & Unaka avenues.

Rolling roadblocks allow traffic to be slowed or temporarily stopped while critical infrastructure is placed without endangering motorists.

Motorists should pay close attention and use the utmost caution near the work zone while seeking alternative routes when possible.
