School Programs

As your hometown electric and broadband provider, BrightRidge values community partnerships and participation. We strive to make a positive difference in the communities we are privileged to serve, embodying the public power model of serving people to improve lives. 

BrightRidge offers five specific school programs tailored for K-12^th grade students and are offered within school-sponsored programs only.

1. In class STEM Education – in partnership with the Hands ON! Discovery Center in Gray, Shocking Science Experience programs are offered to all Washington County and Johnson City Schools for 3^rd – 5^th grade classrooms. Educational programs are tailored to meet classroom time schedules.
2. STEM Fairs – Additionally, this Shocking Science station is presented at STEM-related Fairs for grades K-6^th grade.
3. Electric Safety Education Demonstration – focused for grades K-6^th, this is a 45 minute in-classroom demonstration that teaches basic electrical safety as it relates to an electrical utility.
4. Touch-a-Truck – focused for grades K-3^rd, this is a hands-on event that allows children the opportunity to learn firsthand about an electric service truck that brings power to homes and businesses in their community. Depending upon classroom size, it can last 30 – 60 minutes.
5. Career Fairs – coordinated by Human Resources, promotes all career paths available at BrightRidge to Middle and High Schools, colleges and universities within our service territory.

If your education group is interested in one of these programs, please submit the following form and BrightRidge will follow up to confirm possible participation. Requests must be made at least three weeks ahead of the scheduled event date to allow sufficient time to make necessary arrangements.

Once a request is received, BrightRidge will evaluate each request and respond accordingly.
