BrightRidge and TVA Celebrate Five Years of Home Uplift
Delivering Comfort and Savings to Northeast Tennessee

CIUDAD DE JOHNSON – BrightRidge and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) have marked the fifth anniversary of their Home Uplift partnership, a program that has brought home energy enhancements to hundreds of lower income BrightRidge homeowners.
To date, BrightRidge and TVA have invested $3.86 million in the BrightRidge Electric service area and Uplifted 330 homes at no cost to the homeowner.
“Home Uplift is about improving quality of life and our community as a whole,” BrightRidge CEO Jeff Dykes said. “Lasting improvements to our housing stock improve affordability and comfort for lower income homeowners, while strengthening our communities.”
Since 2021, the Home Uplift partnership has:
- Improved 330 homes in BrightRidge’s service area with new HVAC systems, upgraded insulation, air-sealing and related improvements.
- Invested $3.86 million in total — ($1.97 million from BrightRidge)
- Averaged $12,393 per home in 2025 energy efficiency improvements.
- Delivered real savings: cutting roughly 3,876 kWh from annual energy use, a 20–30% reduction in bills.
“We’re proud to celebrate five years of partnership with Brightridge on our Home Uplift program,” said Scott Harrell, TVA Senior Program Manager for Residential Programs. “The work we do together helps people save money, reduces energy use and creates healthier home environments, which ties directly to TVA’s mission of making life better for those who live in the Valley region.”
Through July 2026, BrightRidge has allocated $414,009, to be matched by TVA, to improve an estimated 45 additional homeowners. Funding is limited so potential applicants should apply early.
