Working Healthy
Needless to say, all our lives have changed as a result of COVID-19, and it is not business as usual at BrightRidge. What sets us apart from other businesses is the fact that we are adept to working during high-stress times, such as extreme weather to ensure our service does not falter. We are implementing social distancing practices to maintain a healthy workforce, which will continue to allow our employees to serve you even when the rest of the world shuts down. Furthermore, we care about the families and friends of our employees. We are your local, public power company, and we are dedicated to the community we serve!

Safety
Your safety matters to us! While you are quarantined at home, please remember to practice electrical safety. Here is a list of tips for your family to consider:
- Electrical outlets should be routinely checked for loose fitting plugs, which can overheat and become a fire hazard.
- Unused outlets should be covered with safety covers, and keep your eye on small children to ensure they do not insert small items into electrical outlets.
- Extension cords should only be used on a temporary basis.
- When using space heaters, keep them at least 3 feet away from combustible materials, such as draperies, furniture, bedding, and rugs.
- Do not overload electrical outlets. Check circuit breaker or fuse amperages to ensure they can withstand the load of the appliance.
- When pruning trees, climbing a ladder, or working on the roof, beware of overhead power lines.
- Before you dig, make sure there are no underground power lines in the area. Call TN-One at 1-900-351-1111.
- Do not allow children to fly kites around power lines.
- Never touch a fallen power line! Assume it is energized and immediately call BrightRidge at (423) 952-5000.
